Pulse are creating a brand new £2.5M Pulse Soccer & Fitness centre at Phoenix Collegiate (Manor Foundation) Business Enterprise and Sports College in Wednesbury, West Midlands.
The site is due to be completed in October 2010. The new centre will include 8 third generation 5-a-side pitches and a dedicated 60 x 40 coaching arena. There will be a 6000 sq ft pavilion with changing room provision for both male and female players, that will also include a state-of-the-art fitness suite with a 55 station Pulse gym and a dance studio.
The school will generate revenue from the facility through an agreed income share with Pulse, this agreement means that the school is not investing any capital in the centre but it will ultimately own the centre at the end of the agreement with Pulse.
Students will have access to the new facilities during the day and then the facilities will be opened up to the local community out of school hours and at weekends. This business model from Pulse shows how educational establishments can work hand in hand with private business to create sites that are beneficial for entire communities, not just schools. The site will be fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act and offer many local employment opportunities.
You can visualise the progression of the building work, the quality of the building materials, internal, external decor finishes and much more over a series of photographs taken at various stages throughout the development.
