ORIGINAL SPORTS HALL

The first phase of the project saw the demolition of the tired existing sports hall to make way for the construction of the new purpose built leisure facility. As part of Pulse's environmental commitment, during the demolition of the old sports hall, the building rubble and materials were recycled to form part of the new ground works at the 2012 Olympic stadium site in London.

NEW BUILD - EXTERIOR

This new build project provided the Pulse team of designers and architects a blank canvass with which to create a state-of-the-art facility, with none of the usual compromises normally encountered when developing existing leisure centre facilities.

FIRST FLOOR CONSTRUCTION

The first floor area prior to constructing the internal zones.

ENTRANCE

Stylish entrance foyer sets the scene, with quality finishes and signage incorporating the access/control system adjacent to reception.

RECEPTION

Stylish air conditioned 'welcoming' reception area with DDA compliant point-of-sale terminals, together with duty managers office.

SWIMMING POOL

The 18m swimming pool utilises the very latest in energy effecient technology, resulting in a 'Grade A Star' rating for the pool.

SAUNA

Energy efficient state-of-the-art sauna, features mood effect lighting with mosaic tiling and quality finishes throughout.

SPORTS HALL

Sports hall with four badminton courts, basketball, football and netball.

CHANGING FACILITIES

Seperate male and female changing facilities comprise fully tiled finishes, quality locker systems, tiled floors with under-floor heating, with child proof drainage channels for easy cleaning, together with stylish shower and toilet facilities throughout, including disabled changing room and toilet.

POOL PLANT ROOM

The plant room houses the latest in pool technology, helping achieve maximum energy efficiency.

FIRST FLOOR

FITNESS SUITE

Large spacious fitness suite with reception desk and full length window to front elevation. Fully air conditioned the state-of-the-art suite comprises 70 stations of Pulse cardiovascular and resistance equipment featuring SmartCentre gym management software and a dedicated freeweights zone. The Pulse cardiovascular equipment features self-powered, wire-free technology and provides considerable energy savings by eliminating the need for mains power and puts significanly less demand on the air conditioning systems.

DANCE STUDIO 1 & 2

The large dance studio faces out to the front of the complex, with a large panoramic window and can be split with integral screens to create two seperate activity zones. It features a large mirrored wall, Junckers silva-sport sprung flooring and is fully air-conditioned and incorporates the latest sound system technology.

DANCE STUDIO 3

The smaller of the two dance studios also faces out to the front of the complex, with large panoramic windows and the same quality finishes throughout.

COMMON ROOM

As part of the new facility a Common Room has been integrated into the scheme, which is accessed directly from the college for the sole use of students.

STAIRS & CORRIDORS

All corridors have a quality painted plaster finish with hardwood skirting, doors and frames with the latest compliant lighting systems and floor finishes. This standard is carried through to the customer stairways with chrome fittings and toughened glass panels creating a modern, stylish effect.

INTERNAL SIGNAGE

Pulse branded signage scheme introduced internally with quality finishes and easy to update customer information points throughout the facility.

EXTERNAL SIGNAGE

Signage introduced externally for Pulse at Carshalton to complement existing schemes with banners for interchangeable monthly promotional campaigns.
