Pulse delivers community and student solution

Pulse Fitness has recently completed a third generation partnership deal with Thornton Grammar school to deliver an integrated approach to fitness across the local community and the student body.

In this third generation partnership deal Pulse provided extra car parking, new high tech front elevation to the building with a new reception area, upgraded all the corridors and doors to solid wood finishes, plastered and decorated the walls instead of painted breeze blocks and added on the extension to the building.

The 220 m2 extension incorporated a separate junior gym that was kitted out with Pulse equipment and all the existing equipment was replaced with the latest ranges using the very latest technology. In addition general public members dry changing facilities were added to keep the public separate from the school areas. Pulse also gave the existing fitness facilities a face lift, redecorating and re-carpeting the existing gym and redecorating the dance studios. The latest development involved an investment of £800,000 from Pulse.

Commenting on the integrated use of fitness equipment in educational establishments, Chris Johnson, Managing Director of Pulse, said, “Equipment is becoming increasingly versatile when it comes to providing the sort of information that students need to use in other areas of their studies. By using the data collected by the equipment, such as heart rate, distance travelled, time elapsed and calories burnt, students can use the data in other areas of academic studies. We are finding that more and more educational establishments are looking at their fitness facilities as a provider of information for other areas of study rather than just as a way of accessing health and fitness for the student body.”
