Shire Oaks School in the West Midlands have been utilising Pulse’ Smart Centre gym software as an additional learning resource for their practical A-level coursework.
The group of 16 and 17 year old children as part of their qualification are producing coursework on the observation of the man’s movement, performance and behaviour in relation to physical activity. With the help of Pulse’ Smart Centre students are able to select and read about fitness equipment that is suitable for different users aims and goals and create a suitable work out programme.
“Pulse’s Smart Centre has been a great tool for the A-level students but it also helps me to monitor attendance in the gym and set individual targets for the students” says Colin Hall, Head of PE at Shire Oaks School “ Students find the system very motivational and actively compete against the work out programme set for them”
As part of the contract Pulse supplied Shire Oaks School with more than £40,000 worth of the latest Pulse ranges of cardiovascular, resistance and free weights equipment.
“We chose Pulse as they are the one stop shop for fitness solutions, they were able to modernise our existing gym and supply a fantastic range of fitness equipment” says Colin Hall “The equipment is very easy for the students to use, excellent quality and Pulse offer great finance packages, we had no reason to shop around as Pulse met all of our requirements and more”
