Pulse has provided Plymouth Tuition Services with a solution to help increase activity levels of students in years 10 and 11. Plymouth Tuition Services have purchased a wireless dance mat system from Dance Machine to provide a new form of activity for the students.
“Our year 10 and 11 students are more interested in music than they are being active so combining the two with dance mats has been a great success,” comments head teacher, Lynda Glenister.
Pulse’s interactive Dance Machine products were chosen as they provide exactly what the Tuition Service wants, an innovative way of increasing activity levels in older children who are difficult to engage in traditional activity. “It’s taken off better than we hoped it would,” comments Lynda. “Especially with the boys – they seem to be out-dancing the girls at the moment.”
Plymouth Tuition Services are also working towards Healthy Schools Status and Dance Machine from Pulse is massively contributing towards achieving the schools activity targets. “We don’t have any outdoor facilities for activity at all so it was vital that we make the most of the indoor space that we have. Dance Machine has given us a solution that can be transported easily between our three buildings to provide an activity outlet for our students and help us achieve the government targets of 2 hours of exercise a week.”
