Barnsley Premier Leisure (BPL) has expanded their fitness suite at Barnsley Metrodome Leisure Complex due to the overwhelming success of the fitness suite refurbishment in 2009.
Since installing the 80 station Pulse Fitness suite which included cardiovascular, resistance, freeweights and Pulse SmartCentre, BPL have seen an 95% increase in membership and since the introduction of the equipment at Christmas it has seen a further 25% increase.
“Switching to Pulse from our previous provider has had many advantages” comments Steve Roberts, Business Development Officer for BPL. “For one members love the new fitness equipment; they find it easy to use, motivational and engaging which coupled with the capabilities of SmartCentre has enabled us to have a pro-active retention program. SmartCentre has helped us with the management of gym staff, member interaction and coordinates a very pro-active and successful GP referral scheme”
The increase in membership sales has naturally warranted a demand for more fitness machines and for the Trust there was no question as to who would provide the additional 40 stations. The now 120 station gym, installed in December 2011 features state-of the art cardiovascular and resistance machines, including self-powered, wire-free bikes and cross-trainers.
Kenny Wattam, Sales Manager for Pulse is delighted with the flourishing relationship with BPL. “We fought off strong competition to win this contract initially back in 2009 and I believe the healthy partnership shows the true values of Pulse”
